Nicolas Deroux VI10 Violin 4/4
This violin was handcrafted in China and has been made with two pieces of maple for the back which have are well-flamed with a narrow curl, and matching ribs and scroll, and the top is of a finely grained spruce. The violin has been finished with a red-brown varnish. It is fitted with an ebony chinrest and pegs, and a Wittner tailpiece with built-in fine tuners. This instrument measures 353mm along the back, 165mm across the upper bouts, and 204mm across the lower bouts.
The Deroux VI17 projects a tone which is a lovely combination of fullness and clarity. The G and D strings provide a warm and broad tone filling the space around the player, whilst the A and E strings are brilliant and direct, and the sound easily reaches the furthest point in any room. Each note is clear cut and unique, giving players the ability to explore the nuances of the instrument, as well as their own playing. This violin has a very comfortable playability and would be most suited for players looking to complete Grade 5 to Grade 8.
