Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Neo Violin Strings: setting a new benchmark
When developing new strings, Pirastro believes in the importance of consulting with musicians. Such is the case with their new violin string set Evah Pirazzi Neo. This new range was designed in close collaboration with violinist Janine Jansen, resulting in a string set that offers great power and volume in its low frequencies, brilliance and focus across the entire sound spectrum and an inspiringly simple and direct response. In the words of Janine Jansen: “Excellent malleable sound, big, powerful, centred, noble and luminous. The strings stay in tune incredibly quickly, are very easy to work with from the start and feel extremely comfortable under the fingers.”
Using a new manufacturing process, Evah Pirazzi Neo synthetic strings are engineered to have exceptional tuning stability and are therefore ready to play immediately after installation. The combination of construction and carefully chosen materials helps generate a high carrying capacity and projection, which is notably supported by a unique E-string whose special gold coating provides depth and brilliance to the entire set. Thorough technical evaluation means the Evah Pirazzi Neo violin strings have a distinctive overtone spectrum with strong fundamentals, resulting in an overall clear and powerful sound. Most importantly, this was all achieved without needing to increase the tension of each of the individual strings.

The Evah Pirazzi String Family
The new Evah Pirazzi Neo violin strings are an exciting addition to the Evah Pirazzi string family. The three different sets in the violin string family allow musicians to customise their sets for both personal taste and the respective sound characteristics of their instruments.
+ Evah Pirazzi (2000) - Characterised by a rich overtone, rather bright sound and relatively strong background noise, which ensures carrying capacity, power and projection.
+ Evah Pirazzi Gold (2012) - Compared to Evah Pirazzi, these Gold strings are designed to emphasise the warm, round and somewhat darker sound spectrum.
+ Evah Pirazzi Neo (2025) - In this new development, the background noise of the original Evah Pirazzi is reduced while maintaining the strings’ full carrying capacity and power. Evah Pirazzi Neo is designed to combine effortless note and string transitions with easy response, tonal clarity and far-reaching projection.
