Montagnana 1742,’ and is based on a Montagnana model. The body measures 750mm along the back, 370mm across the upper bouts and 455mm across the lower bouts. The back is made from two pieces of well flamed maple. The top is made of spruce with a straight grain. This cello has been antiqued with a good cover of golden brown to orange varnish \u0026amp; rosewood fittings. It is in excellent condition with no damage or marks. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOverall this cello has a big, powerful \u0026amp; pronounced sound with soloistic qualities. It has a singing quality \u0026amp; even sound across both the high \u0026amp; low registers. It is extremely responsive \u0026amp; easy to play. This instrument would be suitable for tertiary level study, advancing to professional soloists \u0026amp; chamber musicians. This cello is currently fitted with Larsen Arioso on the G \u0026amp; C and Larsen Magnacore on the A \u0026amp; D strings.
