The Dörfler Bow Making Workshop is a fourth generation family business who combine the tradition of German bow making with the style of prolific French bow maker Tourte. Daniel Dörfler is the current founder of the company, and together with his son Egidius Dörfler their workshop has been transformed into what it is today, carrying the values of sustainable practice and the reforestation of pernambuco trees, the precious material which bows are made from. This violin bow is stamped '*Egidius Dörfler **' and weighs 62.00 grams. It has an octagonal stick and is made from pernambuco. It measures 74.4mm in length and has silver lapping and a leather grip. The frog is made from ebony and is fully silver mounted with a treble clef pearl eye and one-piece silver button. This violin bow has a strong stick which produces a full, yet direct and focused tone. It is a balanced evenly between the tip and frog and provides good response and clarity when playing with both strength and also tenderness. This bow would be suitable for players completing their upper AMEB levels, and moving into tertiary education.
